Lineform is built to work entirely on your Mac. This page explains what that means in practice.

No account

Lineform has no account system. You don't sign up, sign in, or hand over an email address to use it.

No analytics by default

Lineform does not collect usage analytics by default.

Your files stay on your Mac

Documents you open or create in Lineform are stored as ordinary Markdown or plain text files on your Mac. Lineform does not upload your documents anywhere. If you choose to sync those files yourself, with iCloud Drive, Git, or any other tool, that's between you and the service you picked.

Lineform's source is public on GitHub under the PolyForm Shield License, so you can read exactly what the app does rather than take our word for it.
